- Complete original Veteran bring back captured Japanese helmet from the intense battlefield near Iwo Jima, was told taken from ChiChi Jima. You can research what happened there during the last days of WWII
- Looks to be as found in battlefield condition. Rings mark paint loss on top of helmet. I researched and believe the ring on top of the helmet was actually marks left by other helmets being stacked up together after battle ended
- Chinstraps were untied so I could show the condition (excellent as found condition, little frays)
- Drawstring as found untied (hard for me to get the issue inkstamp that way but I did got the year of issue- 1941 (16) cream of the crop helmet production. This must be a veteran soldier defending ChiChi Jima island or could be a very high ranking soldier still wearing a 1941 issued helmet with pigskin / cowhide liner-Pigskin /cowhide band liner is untouched has all cotton pockets and silk ties still tied to all pockets. I didn\'t want to untie or examine the pillows (excellent condition)
-Came out of Veteran from state of Virginia. Unfortunately couldn\'t find my records of the Veteran\'s rank and name (will make an effort to retrieve the name but can\'t promise to winner of sale).
-This is one of my best cream of the crop Japanese helmets.
-There is a small mice bite damage on one of the tongues (see picture) that I wasn\'t aware until I received the helmet
