The Hand Guard ends are in great shape with the wood end not chipped or split, and the Two Riveted in metal mounting tab is in excellent shape too with no bends, or dents.
There is a couple very minor dents, and one very slight imperfection in the wood grain located in the right rear near the top of the sighting well ridge. Another dent on the left side rear lower.
Overall, this is a Very Nice M1 Carbine hand guard to replace yours with the correct IBM Contractor part made by Jamestown Lounge Co. = JL-B in the book, but stamped without the hyphen on the hand guard = JL B
